A good source of information about local concerts is the recently launched Music In Portsmouth website, which provides listings of concerts for amateur classical musical groups (including choirs and orchestras) in the Portsmouth area, including Fareham, Petersfield, Chichester, Havant and Hayling Island.
Concerts can be filtered by type of music and there’s the facility to subscribe to a monthly email newsletter. The Music in Portsmouth listings are displayed in libraries, civic offices and tourist information offices as well as in other public buildings such as churches and other concert venues.
Administrator Simon O’Hea says, “I hope that this website will encourage more people to take advantage of the great amateur classical music scene in our area”.
