Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Solemn Vespers

Michael Haydn: Requiem in C minor

Conductor Peter Gambie
Organ Mark Dancer

PROGRAMME NOTES:

Michael Haydn wrote his Requiem in C minor upon the death of Count Archbishop Sigismund von Schrattenbach, but many think it’s really dedicated to his infant daughter who died in the same year. Mozart‘s Vesperae solennes de Confessore (Solemn Vespers) features the exquisite and much-loved setting of Laudate Dominum.
